Slabs and driveways

Garage floors, basement slabs, shop floors and driveways, wherever the truck can't reach the forms.

If the ready-mix truck can't back up to the forms, or shouldn't drive over what's already there, the line can carry the concrete in for it.

What we pump

Before pump day

  1. Base compacted, with vapour barrier, insulation and rebar or mesh in place
  2. Inspection passed, if your project needs one
  3. Enough finishers booked for the size of the slab
  4. A washout spot planned (it saves you a fee)

Need the volume? A 20 × 20 ft garage floor at 4 inches thick is about 3.8 m³, or about 4.2 m³ with 10% extra. Try your own sizes in the concrete calculator.

Common questions

Can you pump into a basement?

Often, yes. The line can go down a ramp, through a doorway or window, or through a hole cut in the floor or ceiling. Send us a photo of the opening and the route and we'll confirm.

Is a pump worth it for a driveway?

If the truck can pour straight from the chute, maybe not. If it can't get close, or would have to drive over finished surfaces or soft ground, a line pump is usually faster than barrowing and gives your finishers a steady supply.
