Patios, walkways and pool decks

The classic line pump job: the truck stays out front and the line goes through the gate.

Backyard patios, side-yard walkways and pool decks are hard to reach with a ready-mix truck. A line pump brings the concrete to the forms without wheelbarrow runs across the lawn.

What we pump

Before pump day

  1. Forms set and base compacted
  2. A clear route for the line from the street to the forms
  3. If the line has to cross a neighbour's yard, ask them first
  4. Tell us about anything delicate along the route so we can plan around it

Not sure how much to order? The concrete calculator works it out in cubic metres.

Common questions

Will the line damage my lawn?

The line lies on top of the ground and is moved by hand, so lawns and gardens usually come through fine. On decks, pavers and other surfaces that mark easily, we set pumper caddies under the hose clamps. Tell us about anything delicate and we'll plan the route around it.

Is a pump worth it for a small patio?

Usually, if the truck can't reach. Even two or three cubic metres is a lot of wheelbarrow loads, and a rushed pour makes for a rushed finish.
